MARGAO: Navelim MLA Luizinho Faleiro has given notice of a special resolution in the upcoming Goa Legislative Assembly to setup a judicial commission to investigate the adulteration and nutrition related issues in the food people eat in Goa.
Faleiro has moved resolution to setup a judicial commission to investigate the slow poisoning of Goan consumers through the adulteration of fruits, vegetables, fish, meat and spices.
The resolution will also demand assessment of the impact on the nutrition and health and the spurt in the incidence of cancer and other related diseases among Goans due to surreptitiously poisoning of foods by suppliers.
The resolution will also suggest check on the artificial price rise of fish and monopolization of the fish trade by the ‘fish mafia’ using unfair means to throttle the business of the local fishing community.
This resolution has been moved on the back drop of the Formalin in fish row that was kicked up after the FDA raided the fish market at Seraulim in Fatorda on Thursday.
