MARGAO: The GPCC President Luizinho Faleiro has ridiculed the news of Congress MLAs leaving the party and joining the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP).
“MLA Babu Kavlekar and Pandurang Madkaikar are pillars of the party and I believe that they won’t quit Congress,” said Luizinho.
He was speaking at the press conference held at Fatorpa during Sewa Dal workshop. MP Shantaram Naik, MLAs Pratapsing Rane, Babu Kavlekar and Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco were present at the conference.
“The Congress party is getting stronger by the day; seeing that some are getting desperate and spreading such false news. MLA Babu Kavlekar is a strong and trusted worker of the party and he will continue to be so,” Luizinho exuded confidence.
“We are prepared for the Assembly Election and we have made 16 different committees. The Blocks have been advised to go ahead with finding fresh new candidates. After we receive the list of shortlisted names, we will place it before the GPCC and will complete the screening process and announce the candidates,” Luizinho said and quickly added, “We won’t make the last election mistake of announcing the names at last moment.”
