Mae Dos Pobres feast celebrated at Nuvem

The feast of Mae Dos Pobres was celebrated on Sunday with great pomp and religious fervour at Nuvem.
Parish Priest Fr Alvaro Martins was the main celebrated at the concelebrated high Mass, while the sermon was preached by Fr Victor Ferrao.
IN his homily, Fr Ferrao called upon the Christians to be witnesses of Jesus Christ by following the footsteps of Blessed Joseph Vaz and to recognize the language through which God talks and to be loving Catholics.
The village wore a festive look as thousands of people thronged the village to celebrate the popular feast in Salcete.
The Maina Curtorim police personnel and the traffic police were in strength on the roads to ensure smooth flow of traffic on the NH-17.
