MARGAO: Nine members of Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee on Saturday while asking party President Rahul Gandhi to walk the talk demanded that the party nominate their President Pratima Coutinho as the Congress candidate from South Goa.
Mahila Congress General Secretary Diana Braganza said that Pratima is known all over Goa as she has been raising various issues and taking on the BJP-led government particularly in the last two years very vociferously.
Pointing out that Pratima has worked for the party for the last 23 years without asking for any position or any ticket, she said it was befitting for the party to appreciate her hard work by giving her party ticket for the ensuing Lok Sabha elections.
“She took up for women who were raped or molested. Pratima has worked for the party at the grassroots level even as a booth worker,” she said.
