PANJIM: The body of an unidentified male person was found washed ashore on Galgibaga beach on Friday.

Canacona police officials said they visited the site after locals first saw the body on Friday afternoon. After conducting a panchanama, the police sent the body for post-mortem and preservation.
Police sources say prima facie, they estimate the person’s age to be over 60 years. The body was also found to be in a highly decomposed state and the police are carrying out further investigations to determine the person’s identity.
In that regard, the Police are also looking into a missing complaint report about a man from Karwar and looking into the possibility if the person who was found on the beach is the same missing person.
