BICHOLIM: Bicholim Mamlatdar Pravinjay Pandit held a special meeting on Thursday to review the arrangements of Shirgao zatra scheduled on May 9.
The meeting was held in Shri Devi Lairai Devasthan hall, Sirigao. The meeting was attended by Devasthan committee members, local Sarpanch Vishal Mandrakar, Bicholim PSI Shripad Gawas, traffic officials, fire officials, representatives of electricity, tourism and health departments and mining companies.
The mamlatdar directed the traffic police inspector to provide route plan for the Zatra and also directed Electricity Department to illuminate the site and repair the High Mast. The PWD dept was directed to repair the roads. The Traffic police officials were directed to provide barricades near Homekhand site to avoid hardship to devotees.
The Mamlatdar also directed the local panchayat and Devasthan committee to take measures to set up stalls only on one side of the road and not to give permission for stalls near Homekhand site.
The Health Officers were directed to deploy health officers and also fire officer was directed to deploy Fire officers along with tender during the zatra festivities.
The police were directed to deploy personnel during the Zatra festivities. The mining companies were directed to render assistance for the smooth conduct of zatra.
