According to Valpoi police, the accused used to allegedly harass his wife regularly. On July 25, Reshma went to her parent’s house at Naneli-Sattari, but she went missing since October 7. A missing complaint was filed at Valpoi police station by her parents on October 8.
Police further informed that on October 10, the parents lodged another complaint claiming that the accused kidnapped their daughter. Police immediately took the accused into custody and during interrogation on Thursday, the accused confessed murdering his wife.
The accused took Valpoi police to a jungle area at Kudne-Sanquelim and showed where he had thrown the body. Police recovered the mutilated body and sent the body for post-mortem at GMC Hospital in Bambolim.
The accused also confessed that he had called his wife at Sanquelim on October 7 for patch up and took her to jungle area and strangulated her to death. The deceased is survived by three children. PI Sanjay Dalvi is investigating the case.
