Canacona: A middle-aged man drowned while casting his fishing net at Sadolxem, Canacona. The Canacona police received a call at 9.30 am that a man had drowned at Sadolxem. A PCR van was dispatched to the site but by the time the van reached, the neighbours called the 108 ambulance and he was brought to Canacona health centre where the doctors on duty declared him dead on arrival. The police revealed the name of the deceased as Prashant Pagi, 34 resident of Muthal, Sadolxem.
Sources speaking to Herald said “Prashant was casting a net in a water-logged field early Monday morning. After looking around at various locations, his mother found him in the field face down. She pulled his face up and raised an alarm for help. Later he was shifted to the CHC were the doctors on duty declared him dead on arrival”.
