PANJIM: Panjim police on Sunday arrested a resident of Caranzalem for allegedly attempting to outrage the modesty two minor girls inside their house, in addition to assaulting the police in the wee hours of the morning.
According to reports at the town police station, a complaint was received early on Sunday morning of one Constancio entering a house in Caranzalem locality and attempting to manhandle and molest two minor girls.
The girls, aged 15 and 17, were in their house when the alleged accused forcibly entered and misbehaved.
The complaint was filed by one M F Xavier at around 4 am on Sunday.
Police reportedly rushed to the spot to arrest the accused, who assaulted one of the policemen. The accused has been remanded to one day police custody. He will be produced before the court on Monday for further remand.
