PANJIM: In an incident that amused some and shocked others, an inebriated man who was found sleeping off his hangover in a traffic police booth near Caculo junction was mistaken for a dead person and was about to be shifted to the morgue by Fire and Emergency and Police Services when he woke up.
The obvious destitute was sleeping with his legs jutting out of the booth, when passersby called the police and fire control rooms informing that they had sighted a ‘dead body.’ When the personnel broke the box to take the ‘body’ out, they were shocked to see the man wake up and pleading that he had done nothing wrong.
A large curious crowd gathered there – at first shocked, but soon burst into laughter.
