On the day the South Goa district collector began the process for releasing a tender for running of the canteen at the collectorate, the aggrieved person Sunil Naik who used to run the canteen has sent a show-cause notice to the district collector. It maybe recalled that it has been over a year and a half since the canteen was abruptly shut down. While speaking to media persons, Naik said that he had put in a lot of investment for the canteen and that for such a long period of time he was not given a fair chance to for his grievances to be addressed or to run the canteen again. Naik also referred to the letter sent by the chief secretary to the collector instructing him to take appropriate action with regard to the canteen issue. Naik asserted that he is willing to run the canteen again and criticised the authorities for the manner in which they had kept delaying the matter.
