Mandatory to maintain list of passengers

The Transport Department Tuesday issued a memorandum to the assistant directors of transport (enforcement) in north and south Goa districts to ensure that all inter-state buses maintain a list of passengers on board, along with their contact numbers.

PANJIM: The Transport Department Tuesday issued a memorandum to the assistant directors of transport (enforcement) in north and south Goa districts to ensure that all inter-state buses maintain a list of passengers on board, along with their contact numbers. 

Director Arun Desai told reporters late Tuesday evening that officers at the check-posts have also been asked to check the lists before allowing the bus to cross the borders.

The move came soon after the Transport Minister Sudin Dhavalikar announced in the state legislative assembly that  steps will be  taken to ensure  that all private bus operators plying on  inter-state routes submit a list of passengers on board along with  contact details while departing through all check  posts in Goa.
