VASCO: A family from Vaddem, Vasco escaped unhurt when a mango tree fell on their house, while they were sleeping on early Saturday morning.
The incident occurred at around 6.45 am when the tree came crashing on a house belonging to Ladu Parwar amidst gusty winds and heavy rains.
Parwar said that his mother was sleeping in one room and his children were sleeping in the other room but all escaped unhurt. The house, situated opposite Goa Shipyard Ltd was damaged and a wall collapsed with the impact.
On receiving the information, the Vasco fire personnel rushed to the site and cut the tree. They also removed the two-wheeler which was parked nearby.
Vasco MLA Krishna ‘Daji’ Salkar later rushed to the site and assured Parwar family that he would provide all possible help and assistance to reconstruct the house
