PANJIM: Congress on Monday claimed that some of the BJP leaders including their founder members were ‘hurt’ with the party, results of which would be seen in the days to come.
“In Goa there are a lot of people who were with this government. They believed the party with the principles, morality and with difference,” Congress president Girish Chodankar said.
“But today most of their (BJP) supporters, MLAs and founders are hurt,” he added stating “and we are reaching out to all of them and you will soon come to know who all they are”.
“Just wait and watch for few days. Everything would be crystal clear,” he stated without specifying anything in detail.
When asked whether party will approach Joshua, son of late BJP Mapusa MLA Francis D’Souza, with the ticket, Chodankar refused to comment.
However, AICC secretary and Goa desk in-charge Dr Chellakumar said “Not only in Mapusa, many people from various parts of the State and from different parties want to join Congress”.
Chellakumar said that he along with Chodankar already had discussion with those leaders and have conveyed their decision to party national president Rahul Gandhi.
“It is going to be a surprise for many,” he said while refusing to name anyone.
