MAPUSA: A 70-year-old woman who sustained injuries in an accident at Karaswada, Mapusa died while undergoing treatment at Asilo, Mapusa.
According to Mapusa police, the victim – Yvette Fernandes had sustained injuries in an accident on Tuesday afternoon.
The accident took place at around 2.45 pm on Tuesday when the truck driver which was proceeding from Karaswada to Panjim lost control of the vehicle and dashed into an oncoming Maruti Eeco.
The driver of Maruti Eeco – Vilas Ramchandra Gaude, occupants – Diego Fernandes and Yvette Fernandes were injured. Gaude was immediately referred to GMC, Bambolim while the couple and the truck driver Sunil Kubal were referred to Asilo, Mapusa.
Police informed that Fernandes died on Tuesday night while the other injured persons are undergoing treatment.
