Mapusa College Student Found Dead After Questioning in Alleged Garbage Dumping Case

A youth from Mapusa, reportedly a third-year college student, was found dead on Friday, hours after an FIR was registered against him in connection with an alleged garbage dumping case at Gaunswaddo.

According to sources, the student had been called to the Mapusa Police Station for questioning as part of the investigation into the alleged dumping incident. Following the inquiry, he was later found dead under circumstances that are currently being investigated.

Police suspect the case to be a suicide, although the exact cause of death will be determined after further investigation. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination to ascertain the cause and circumstances surrounding the death.

The FIR was reportedly registered in connection with the alleged illegal dumping of garbage at Gaunswaddo, and the youth was among those being questioned by the authorities.
