MAPUSA: Commuters and businessmen have claimed that the Mapusa municipality’s failure to lift the garbage dumped along the roadside is causing nuisance.
They complained that garbage dumped at different locations in the town namely near the administrative complex and opposite old Asilo building is stinking and these sites have turned into perfect breeding grounds for mosquitoes. They further complained that some of the dust bins were filled with waste. The stray animals further feast on this garbage which is also causing nuisance in the locality.

“The garbage is not lifted in time. The municipal staffers come to collect garbage in the evening and sometimes the next day due to which, the uncollected garbage stinks”, claimed a businessman.
Sai Kubde, a daily commuter said,” Stray dogs visit these garbage sites for food and also keep on moving on the roads thereby affecting the smooth flow of traffic. The concerned authorities should clear the garbage daily”.
