Mapusa Municipal Engineer Hussain Muzawar stated that market was one of the most visited and biggest markets in Goa. He said, “This market becomes too crowded on Fridays. The shopkeepers complain that thefts take place in the market every day. Some vendors who live far away leave their merchandise in the market and go home.”
He continued, “MMC will incur the Rs 5 lakh expenditure for the installation of these cameras. The installation contract has been given to Paramount Company. The control room will be at Mapusa police station, while arrangement for MMC Chairperson to observe the activities in from his office will be made.”
