Mapusa market to remain closed today

MAPUSA: The Mapusa Market Association (MMA) has decided to keep their businesses closed on Monday as a mark of respect to Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, who passed away on Sunday.
The association has requested all its members and other merchants to keep their establishments closed for the entire day.
Parrikar paid his last visit to the city of Mapusa on February 15 when he came to condole the family of former deputy chief minister, late Francis D’Souza at his residence. He came on a wheelchair with a tube in the nose and a urinary sheath connected to him.
He paid homage to his childhood friend and colleague without uttering a word but shook hands with Babush’s wife.
 expressing his condolences to the family. His visit on Friday morning last month lasted barely a couple of minutes.
