MAPUSA: The residents of Mapusa has demanded that an underpass or overbridge be built at Camarkhajan junction. The residents of Camarkhajan, Peddem and Acoi wards, who gathered in large number at Camarkhajan junction, met the OSD to Chief Minister, Aldona MLA Glen Ticlo and PWD officials and highway contractor.

During the meeting, the residents complained that they are forced to undergo hardship in the absence of a direct access road connecting to Mapusa at this junction.
They claimed that the lone access road connecting to the Mapusa town to these wards has been blocked due to the highway expansion and due to this the residents are forced to travel an additional two kms to cross the road.
The residents also complained that the people, especially senior citizens are forced to walk along the highway to cross the road to visit the church or market by risking their lives.
