PONDA: Marcaim MLA Sudin Dhavalikar on Thursday said former BJP MLA Kiran Kandolkar met him at his Bandora residence not to join the MGP, but to establish a new political party.

Addressing media persons, Dhavalikar said, “I don’t mind formation of a new party as politics must continue. However, forming a new party and running it for long time is a difficult task. Difficult task in the sense that a new party needs support and unity of the people, it needs monetary support and good policies to run the party for long time.”
“I experienced this while running the MGP for 22 years. We have seen what happened to many political parties, which lasted for a short term. If new parties are formed, they should steadily progress with people’s support. The party should not get drifted in absence of proper direction,” he said.
Dhavalikar said he will support Kandolkar if he is willing to form a new party.
He said, “Kiran met me for guidance on forming new party and I will always support him if he is forming new political party with policies for Goa’s better future.”
Sudin said, “Kiran is young, has bright future and I am willing to guide him. He has chances of becoming MLA in the next election.”
When asked about new political equation of MGP with the new party of Kandolkar, he said a discussion will take place only after December.
