Marcaim man held for impersonating CMO staff

PANJIM: The Cybercrime Cell of Goa police arrested a man from Marcaim for allegedly impersonating as staff of CMO Goa on social media and demanding financial favours from gullible people. 

The police gave the name of the accused as Saish Narvekar. He allegedly offered government jobs to people claiming he was CMO staffer.

Boxer arrested on rape charges granted bail 

Meanwhile, a national award winning boxer Pushpender Rathi who was arrested for raping a fellow sportswoman on pretext of marriage was released on bail by the Panaji Court. 

The Women’s police station had arrested 22-year-old Rathi following a complaint by the victim’s family. He has been released on conditional bail and a personal bond of Rs one lakh among other conditions.
