PONDA: The Marcaim gram sabha on Sunday resolved not to give NOC to undertake any construction work on comunidade land at Marcaim.
According to the villagers, about 2 lakh square metres of land has been offered to a religious body. “However, the comunidade is not ready to give its land to the Marcaim Panchayat for the development work,” alleged a villager.
Later, the villagers passed a resolution stating that if comunidade is avoiding and not willing to give its land for development works of the village, then the comunidade should not be allowed to allot its land for any other purpose.
When contacted, Marcaim Sarpanch Shailendra Panjikar said the panchayat had requested the comunidade to allot 3,000 sq mtrs of land for garbage plant, 4,000 sq mtrs for market project and 5,000 sq mtrs for garden, but the comunidade is not ready to fulfil the panchayat’s demand.
It was also decided to collect garbage on door-to-door basis. Sarpanch Panjikar said he was trying to appoint contractors for garbage collection.
