Mardol Shigmo pays tributes to Pulwama martyrs, Abinandan

PONDA: The traditional Chaturdashi Shigmo festival at Mahalsa temple, at Mardol, this year was remarkable as participants dressed as soldiers and Wing Commander Abinandan attracted hundreds of devotees on Wednesday night.
The photos of the participants dressed up as soldiers and wing Commander Abinandan went viral on social media. It reminded the people of the jawans martyred in Pulwama terror attack as well as heroic deed of Wing Commander Abinandan. People appreciated the concept in romatamel procession at Mardol.
The people appreciated the participants for reminding the people of the sacrifice of solider guarding the border, as well as the heroic deed of Wing Commander Abinandan.
Every year, on the occasion of Chaturdashi, 12 romatamel troupes from Marcaim and Priol gather at Mardol temple on the fourth day of Shigmo festival called Chaturdashi dancing to the tune of drums of Dhol and drums. 
Every year it is a tradition that each and every romatamel shigmo troupes with more than hundred to two hundred participants in every group, offers prayers (naman) to Goddess and moves around temple of Goddess Mahalsa, singing songs and praising goddess Mahalasa seeking her blessing for the well being of society and villagers. Minister Govind Gaude also joined the traditional Shigmo festival on Wednesday night and displayed his skill in drum beating and Dhol Tasha.
