CORTALIM: Bishop of Kandy, Sri Lanka, Vianney Fernando along with his 10 priests will celebrate mass at the Sancoale Sanctuary on January 21 at 5 pm.
Kandy has a special significance since St Joseph Vaz died there after 24 years of missionary works on the Island nation on January 16, 1711.
Meanwhile, Sunday masses held in Goa were dedicated as thanksgiving masses in honour of the Canonisation of Joseph Vaz who was declared a Saint by Pope Francis in Sri Lanka on January 14.
