Masses held in closed doors

PANJIM: The churches in Goa were closed following the call by the Archbishop to support the ‘Janta Curfew’ on Sunday.

The Archbishop of Goa and Daman, Most Rev Fr Filipe Neri Ferrao, celebrated Mass which was recorded by CCR TV and telecast on YouTube. Some parishes like Aldona and Raia also had closed door services which were telecast to their parishioners.

Fr Thomas Lobo, Parish Priest of St Thomas the Apostle Church, Aldona, telecast the celebration of the Mass through the Internet to his parishioners while Our Lady of Snows Church, Raia PP Fr Conceicao D’Silva, reportedly had another TV channel to telecast the services held in Raia.

In his homily, the archbishop exhorted his faithful to rekindle our faith which we received in our baptism and pass it on to others during the Lent season.

Other churches and convents throughout the State held silent adorations throughout the day.
