BICHOLIM: The Public Works Department (PWD) had an emergency shutdown of the water supply in Mayem and Bicholim constituencies on May 2 from 12 am to 5 pm. The water outage was for 17 hours at a stretch.
The Public Works Department stated that the shutdown was necessary to conduct urgent repair work on a failed main valve (350mm) on the distribution main supplying potable water to the Mayem constituency.
