Valpoi: Villagers from Brahma Karmali area of Nagargao village panchayat have fallen victim to gastroenteritis cases like diarrhea and vomiting. Villagers have been taking treatment at Community Health Centre (CHC) Valpoi and private clinics. This was confirmed by CHC Medical Officer in-charge Dr Shyam Kankonkar.
“As soon as we received information about these cases, I dispatched my medical team who visited the village and did surveillance of the disease. During the surveillance, we didn’t find any active cases but got to know that since the last three days, there were lots of villagers who had similar symptoms,” Dr Kankonkar said.
He added that water samples have been collected from all three sources like streams, springs and tap water, from where villagers used to consume water, and that they will also be test the stool samples of those who had symptoms.
While pointing out that they have not received any latest complaints from the village, he said they will organize advocacy programmes.
