SANGUEM: Acting on a complaint lodged by Roland Martins of GOACAN demanding immediate construction of a railway over bridge at Kalay in Sanguem, Sanguem Deputy Collector Ajay Gaude has convened a meeting of the government officials including that of Station Master of Kalay Station to discuss on the issue, on Monday, at 11.30 am.
In his complaint, Martins has forwarded a clipping of report which appeared in Herald dated October 29, 2010 wherein Herald had highlighted the difficulties faced by the people given the lack of railway over bridge in the village.
Since there is no railway over bridge in the village, the villagers are using a under bridge to cross railway line at Kalay.
Though it is fine and safe to use the under-bridge during summer and other seasons, severe difficulties and hardship is witnessed during monsoon when the under bridge remains under water and it becomes difficult and unsafe to use it during monsoon.
