With few hours left for the first ball to be bowled at Fatorda for the ODI, the Met department’s prediction has come as a sure dampener. The department has said that it will rain heavily in the State on Sunday and Monday.
The heavy rains that lashed several parts of the State since Friday night, is expected to continue for next two days.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department’s website, heavy to very heavy showers are likely to hit the State on Sunday and Monday.
“The temperatures will continue to drop from 23 degree Celsius to further 22 degree Celsius from Sunday,” the website reads.
Goa Met department in-charge K V Singh had said that as the circulation off-Maharashtra coast which is drifting towards south Konkan and Goa, is getting stronger, the State might witness moderate to heavy showers in next 48 hours.
The Met department has stated that the monsoons are yet to be withdrawn and it has surpassed its usual deadline of September month.
For last 24 hours, the Met department has recorded 52.4 mm of rainfall for the State.
