PORVORIM: With the contentious Medium of Instruction (MoI) issue still a matter of debate, Deputy Speaker Michael Lobo sought that the issue be resolved within the next two or three months and backed parent’s choice in the matter.
“Do not politicise the issue with education and let us not play with education. We ought to give choice to the parents what they want. The government should resolve the MoI issue in the next two or three months. Every Goan will thank us if we resolve this long pending issue of the MoI,” Lobo said.
Commenting on the controversial remark by Sadhavi Saraswati demanding the beef eaters should be hanged, Lobo said that the entry of such leaders into Goa should be banned. Lobo also demanded an FIR indicating that hate speeches won’t be tolerated in Goa.
“An FIR needs to be filed and the individual needs to be summoned to the Police Department otherwise some people will come and give such speeches. Such people who try to disturb the communal peace and harmony in Goa should be banned,” he added.
