Mickky pleads innocence in JE assault case

Tourism Minister Mickky Pacheco on Wednesday pleaded not guilty in the electricity junior engineer assault case.
When the case came up for hearing before the Judicial Magistrate First Class, Margao, the tourism Minister denied the charges levelled by the police in the charge sheet filed against him that he had assaulted the junior engineer Kapil Natekar in his office three years ago.
Pacheco later said that he is innocent and added that the truth will come out in the court. The Colva Police had filed a charge sheet against Pacheco in the assault case after the Director of prosecution gave the go-ahead signal to the Colva police, more than two years after the alleged assault incident had taken place at office of the Tourism Minister at Betalbatim.
