Mickky prime suspect in Nadia murder case
Culpable homicide case registered

In a revelation which may put former Tourism Minister Mickky Pacheco in trouble, the Crime Branch has for the first time said that the Benaulim legislator is the prime suspect in the Nadia Torrado death case, even as the investigating agency has registered a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder by adding Section 304 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) to the criminal case.
The case of culpabale homicide was registered by the Crime Branch after it came to light that two out of the 11 injuries found on Nadia’s body were caused by hard and blunt weapons and are ante mortem in nature. The Crime Branch says that autopsy has revealed that injuries were found on the deceased right forearm, left forearm, wrist, right half of lower lip, right thigh, right leg, left thigh, left leg, right arm, back off shoulder and chest.
That the Crime Branch considers Pacheco as the prime suspect in Nadia’s death case was revealed in the reply filed by the investigating agency to the anticipatory bail application filed by his officer on special duty (OSD) Lyndon Monteiro.
Investigations by the Crime Branch have further revealed that the deceased was using a mobile phone and was in possession of a passport. However, when the investigating agency conducted a search of the deceased’s house, the mobile phone, passport, besides the Ratol paste tube went missing. In this connection, the Crime Branch has added Section 201 of the IPC against unknown persons for having cleaned the house and the room of the deceased to destroy the evidence.
Investigations have further revealed that the deceased was using one more mobile and laptop and the same too are missing and deliberately been made to disappear.
Saying there has been a systematic and sustained destruction of evidence in the case, the Crime Branch added “It appears that Mickky Pacheco and Lyndon Monteiro may have played an important role in the destruction of evidence.”
The Crime Branch says that its scientific investigations has further revealed that Pacheco was very closely linked to the deceased till her death. “He was the person who was present with the victim at all times during the treatment at Apollo Hospital, Margao, Jupiter Hospital, Thana and Apollo Hospital, Chennai. He has spent a huge amount in the treatment of the victim. The approximate amount in the treatment of the victim is more than Rs 40 lakhs”, the Crime Branch said in its reply filed in the court.
Saying that Lyndon is the close associate of the former tourism minister, the Crime Branch has said it has come on record that Lyndon has forwarded money for treatment of the victim at Jupiter Hospital, Thana.
