Min says no note moved to treat Singh as ‘State Guest’

PANJIM: After reports on Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude recommending ‘State Guest’ status to conman Sunil Singh, Information Department in a statement issued on Friday, said that neither the minister’s office nor he had moved any note to the Chief Secretary for treating Singh as State Guest as reported. 
“In his clarification, the Minister has submitted that neither his office nor he had moved any note to the Chief Secretary for treating Sunil Singh as State Guest from December 18 to 27, 2019 as reported,” the statement reads. “Sunil Singh approached him when he had already been accorded the privileges of PSO, accommodation and others. Only then that he had approached the Protocol Department to consider his request for a better accommodation,” it added.
It further said, “In this connection, he had no role to play of whatsoever nature.”
