“We welcome the decision to revoke the suspension order (of September 2012). Now we urge government to immediately expedite all other processes to ensure immediate resumption of mining operations,” GMPF convenor Adv Suhaas Naik said.
The sudden suspension of mining activities has devastated the lives and livelihood of over lakhs of mining dependent people and entrepreneurs in the state, Naik said. “Irreparable and irreversible damage has been done to the State exchequer and its economy,” the GMPF convenor said.
Though the suspension order has been revoked, it is now necessary that the State should pursue the matter with the Central government.
