OLD GOA: A 16-year-old girl from Chimbel was raped by an unknown person at a secluded place at Kirlawada-Chimbel on Sunday night.
The accused also snatched a gold chain the girl was wearing and threatened her with dire consequences if she reported the matter to anyone.
According to Old Goa Police, the girl’s mother complained that the girl was on her way to a cyber cafe when the unknown person grabbed her and took her to a dark, secluded place and committed the heinous act.
The police further informed that the accused then snatched the gold chain weighing around 15 grams and worth Rs 30,000. “Before leaving, the accused threatened the girl with dire consequences,” the police added while informing that the medical examination of the victim has confirmed rape.
Old Goa Police have registered the case under Sections 376, 392, 506 of IPC, Section 8(2) of Goa Children’s Act 2001 and Sections 4 and 8 of POSCO Act 2013. PSI Sagun Sawant is investigating the case.
