VASCO: A 13-year-old boy was allegedly kidnapped by unknown persons from an isolated corridor leading to the railway station opposite Damodar Temple in Vasco on Monday. However, he managed to escape from the van in which he was being held.
According to Vasco Police, the boy’s mother lodged a complaint that around 3.15 pm, when her son was on his way for tuition, he was abducted by two persons.
“According to the mother, the boy was kidnapped by two persons, who first put some chemical-filled handkerchief on his face, due to which he fell unconscious.”
“They then put him inside a Maruti van and tried to escape. They later stopped at an isolated place near Pushpaganda Stores in Vasco and removed the boy’s watch and home key from his pocket. However, he regained conscious and managed to escape from the custody of his kidnappers. He ran to his home and narrated the incident to the mother,” said police.
Vasco Police have registered a case under Sections 323, 363, 511 read with 34 IPC, and Section 8 of the Goa Children’s Act. Further investigations are in progress.
