CANACONA: The family of the missing forest guard posted at a gate in Khotigao Wildlife Sanctuary, finally put to the rest the mystery surrounding his disappearance by disclosing to the investigating official that he contacted them on Monday night and asked them to pick him from Pandharpur, Maharashtra.
It may be recalled that 30-year-old Yogesh Velip, a resident of Ponsulemoll, Khotigao was reportedly missing from Bella gate at Hedumol in Khotigao Wildlife Sanctuary since Saturday afternoon. The police, forest and the locals had launched an extensive search to trace him since Saturday evening.

What confused the investigation team is the presence of his motorcycle with the key, a raincoat, bag and his empty wallet with an ATM card at the place where he was last seen.
Velip’s family including his wife, two-year-old son, parents, two brothers and a sister were in great distress since Saturday.
However, they heaved a sigh of relief when Yogesh called up at his residence to inform them that he is in Pandarpur and that he failed to recollect how he reached Pandarpur. He further asked them to come and take him home.
The family immediately informed the investigation officer who in turn informed his contacts in Pandarpur to trace Yogesh on the basis of his mobile location and to assist him with food and accommodation.
He was later traced near a temple in Pandharpur, Solapur district of Maharashtra which is 420 kms from the spot where he went missing.
