St Andre constituency MLA Francisco Silveira on Monday called upon the Panchayat Minister not to give approval to a river-side hotel project in his constituency because the same was opposed by the gram sabha and the panchayat.
The said hotel, proposed at Moita-Dandi, was opposed by villagers of Agassaim at the gram sabha on Sunday. Silveira while speaking during the demand session in the Assembly conveyed the sentiments of the panchayat and the gram sabha to the House.
He also called for throwing light on houses that would come under the axe for the highway work.
“We have suggested some alternative route; hope this will be taken into consideration,” he mentioned. He also made a case for rehabilitation of four houses that had been demolished during construction of Agassaim-Goa Velha by-pass.
