PANJIM: Following BJP National President Amit Shah’s statement that Manohar Parrikar will control the next government, and the Union Defence Minister expressing his willingness to return to State politics, his colleague in the Union Ministry and North Goa MP Shripad Naik has said it is not yet decided who would be the next CM if BJP returns power.
Naik told reporters that no decision has been taken on the next chief minister. “The MLAs will decide after elections who should be the next CM.”
“There is no confusion. What has been said is that Parrikar with his experience will help and guide the government,” Naik clarified.
Asked whether statements by party leaders about a change in leadership could make CM Laxmikant Parsekar’s position difficult in the run-up to the polls, Naik said ‘No’.
, “There is no push and pull in the party for the chief minister’s post.”
