MMC CO threatens to revoke trade licence if establishments fail to take sewerage connections

MARGAO: Margao Municipal Council Chief Officer Siddhivinayak Naik on Tuesday inspected the overflowing sewage near Swad Hotel area and issued a warning to all the commercial establishments in Margao to get sewage connections or face revocation of their trade licences.

It is instructive that sewerage lines have been laid in most of the areas of Margao town, but the commercial establishments have been adamant on not connecting their facilities to the sewerage lines and prefer discharging their sewage into the storm water drains. Since there is no connectivity to these drains, they often choke up and the water overflows on to the streets.
