MMC Councillor alleges nepotism in auctioning of two shops

MARGAO: Margao Municipal Council (MMC) Councillor Ghanashyam Shirodkar and Mahesh Amonkar, besides few others have alleged that there are attempts to safeguard the interests of someone pertaining to the auctioning of the two shops. Speaking to media persons, Ghanashyam also said that the time given to Chairperson Lyndon Pereira to learn about the functioning and working is over, and time has come to raise the issues of Margao.  “The two shops have been closed since 2007. It is shocking to note that the shops have been re-auctioned at a very less rate, and it is very clear that such a decision has been taken to safeguard the interests of someone, which is very wrong from the part of civic body,” he alleged.
