MMC has problems with plastic

Conscientious citizens of Margao, who try to do their bit to help the environment and reduce pollution, are in for a shock as the Margao Municipal Council does not take their efforts seriously and does exactly the opposite that leads to problems and confusion.
A lecturer at a reputed college living in Margao has been segregating plastic waste generated at home and cleaning the soiled plastic and preserving it for years now. Earlier the collected plastic waste would be dropped at the plastic drop centre near the Bolshe circle.
However, now that MMC had started door to door plastic collection it was presumed that things would be easier but sadly it did not turn for the better. The ladies collecting the waste did not bother to take the accumulated plastic for nearly a fortnight. Then the stray dogs attacked the bags but abandoned them since it contained only plastic.
Fed up with the developments, the lecturer had to ultimately call former councilor Savio Coutinho who personally came in his car and took the plastic away.
This time around when the trash bag was full, it was kept outside and once again, the daily garbage collectors refused to take it. The lecturer got in touch with the Chief Officer and after persistently contacting him he passed on the responsibility to Sanitary Inspector Sanjay.
Sanjay, in turn, reportedly asked one of his supervisors named Joaquim to deal with the matter and the said Joaquim called two ladies to take the accumulated plastic.
What was done with that plastic later is interesting. Joaquim reportedly told the two ladies to rummage through the bag and remove the recyclable plastic and sell it to make some money. The remaining plastic was mixed with the daily waste collected and sent to Sonsoddo for separation instead of sending the plastic directly for baling.
