VASCO: The Mormugao Municipal Council has already identified a government property at Orulem in Vasco that would accommodate new building premises cum playground facility for Mormugao Municipal High School, as well as Mata secondary school.
According to MMC Chairperson Deepak Naik, last year MLA Carlos Almeida Almeida had moved a proposal for shifting of Mormugao Municipal High School which is lacking play ground facility and is located right in the heart of city as well as Mata secondary school at Baina which would soon be demolished as the building property has now been acquired by railways for expansion.
“Presently, our students are playing on hard surface in the absence of play ground facilities. Similarly, our municipal school is located right in the heart of the city and students cannot get proper playground. So last year, our MLA Carlos Almeida had proposed that both these schools can be shifted to a government property in Orulem in Vasco,” Naik said.
