The Margao Municipal Council will open the bids for the Request for Proposals (RFP) received from the four outstation consultants to monitor work on the installation of the garbage treatment plant at Sonsodo on October 11.
This was finalized after the Civic body had a pre-bid meeting with the consultants no Monday. Though the Civic body has received four bids, only the representative of Ahmedabad-based P U Asnani attended the pre-bid meeting with the Margao Municipal Chief Officer, Prasanna Acharya.
The pre-bid meeting was initially scheduled to be held on August 3, but the same was scuttled by the Civic body at the eleventh hour following instructions from the High Powered Committee headed by Chief Minister, Digambar Kamat.
A total of four outstation professional consultants had responded to the Request for Proposal (RFP) invited by the Margao Municipality to monitor the construction of the landfill carried out at the garbage dump site in accordance with the MSW (Management & Handling) Rules 2000 and to certify successfully the work at the site.
Besides Ahmedabad-based P U Asnani, Hyderabad-based Ramky Enviro Engineering Ltd, Ms Senes Consultants, Belapur-Mumbai and Ms Aecom India (Gurgaon) had responded to the RFP, sources in informed.
As per the RFP document, the Margao Municipality was scheduled to open the RFP on August 6 in the presence of the consultants and their representatives. However, the opening of the bids was postponed following the cancellation of the pre-bid meeting.
Chief Officer, Prasanna Acharya said only M/s Urban Management Consultants have filed pre-bid queries, which were deliberated along with Technical Section and Sanitary Inspector. Relevant suggestions were incorporated from the queries, he added.
Acharya said some of the correction , additions and deletion wherever required were carried out to the RFP document so as to customize the RFP document downloaded from internet to suit the requirements of the council. “The amended copy of the RFP was then emailed to all the interested parties so as to maintain transparency in the process and to help them to participate in the bid process with more clarity,” he added.
