MARGAO: The work order for restoring at least 20 of the 37 existing CCTV cameras in Margao is awaiting the connectivity restoration which is under the Department of Information Technology (DIT).
Margao Municipal Council Chief Officer Agnelo Fernandes said that they have already issued a work order to the former vendor of the CCTV cameras Nupur Technologies who is registered on the GEM Portal.
The MMC officials said that the CCTVs of the most critical areas will be restored. However, the Electricity Department has insisted on having electrical meters at certain locations.
However, a MMC official clarified that this is not feasible at some locations as they have managed to get power from the government buildings and structures wherever possible.
