MARGAO: Commotion rent the air at the Margao Municipal Council building on Tuesday noon after an unknown person claimed that he was assaulted by the municipal security guard.
Members of the public questioned the civic authorities over the assault on the person and demanded action against the security guard.
Margao Municipal Chief Officer, Deepali Naik, said she was informed by the civic staff that an unknown person tried to trespass into the civic building and had an altercation with the security personnel.
“I have asked the Margao police to investigate into the incident and find out the truth. I am not defending the security guard, but the allegations against the unknown person should also be probed,” she said.
While the person was taken to the hospital, police took away the security guard to the Margao police station for investigation.
