MARGAO: The ‘Clean Margao Green Margao’ has warned the Margao Municipal Council to solve the garbage menace at Sonsodo and other places by October 30 or face mass agitation.
Meanwhile, the activist group said its first phase of cleaning and beautification of Margao is over and that the second phase would be launched soon.
The group has also sent correspondence to the MMC to either improve the garbage collection system or hand over the same to the group.
Rajendra Talak, Adish Kane, Ranjita Pai and others of ‘Clean Margao Green Margao’ addressed a press conference at Margao announcing the end of Rs 1.25 crore worth of works in the first phase of their activity.
They also announced that the second phase of works would include Abade Faria road, Aquem/Vishant road and others.
As a part of programme on Gandhi Jayanti, the group will be plant trees at various areas.
