MARGAO: Trivandrum native Vinod Gopalam, who was arrested for allegedly molesting a woman from Kerala, was granted bail.
It is learnt that Vinod holds a top post in the CPM party in Kerala.
It may be recalled that Margao Town Police had arrested Vinod on charges of attempting to outrage the modesty of a woman from Kerala following a complaint.
The 25-year-old woman was reportedly working in Dubai and 48-year-old Vinod Gopalam lured her by claiming that he could help her get a Portuguese passport but said that she will have to come to Goa and meet his person.
After escaping from the clutches of the accused, she filed a complaint at the police station and the accused was later arrested.
