Mopa airport workers recruitment this month

Job fair for skilled and unskilled workers to be held on Nov 18; Preference to be given to Pernem locals, especially to land losers

PANJIM: After a long wait, the Directorate of Civil Aviation will start recruitment for skilled and unskilled workers at the upcoming Greenfield Mopa international airport. The Directorate will hold a job fair for the temporary recruitment on November 18 with preference given to Pernem locals, particularly to land losers of Mopa airport. 
The State government has informed that the deployment will be for a period varying from three months to one year. 
“The EPC contractor, MEGAWIDE, is in need of skilled/unskilled manpower during the construction period of the airport which is in progress. Deployment will vary between 3 months to 1 year based on the site requirements. In order to provide employment opportunities to the people of Pernem taluka especially to the land losers in the project village of Mopa, Varconda, Chandel, Uguem, Casarveem and Amberem, a job fair is organised at Government Rest House, Pernem on November 18 from 10 am to 5 pm,” Civil Aviation Director S Shanbhogue has said in a letter to the BDO and Mamlatdar of Pernem, to give publicity to all village panchayats in the taluka for the benefit of locals.
The requirement includes plumber, electrician, mason, barbender, carpenter, welder, gas cutter, traffic warden, mechanic, seaffolder, painter, technical assistant, rigger, lab technician, cleaner, skilled equipment operator, helpers for barbender and carpenters, concrete helpers, khalashi, unskilled labourers and site engineers   civil/ mechanical/ electrical.
